Four people were killed in a two vehicle accident along Interstate 20 in Taylor County Tuesday morning.
The Merkel Police Department says the driver of an semi-truck lost control of his truck on the westbound lanes of the Interstate 20 around 5:00 a.m.
The 18-wheeler then crossed the center median and slammed into a passenger car heading eastbound.
The driver of the car has been identified as Doyle Jeffrey Knight. Mr. Knight was pronounced dead at the scene.
One passenger has been identified as Mary Knight. Mrs Knight was pronounced dead at the scene.
A male juvenile, whose name is not being released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The remaining passenger has been identified as Drew Reynolds. Mr. Reynolds was taken to Hendrick Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Mr. Reynolds did succumb to his injury’s at approximately 2:07 P.M. Tuesday afternoon.
All four of the victims are from Barry, Texas. Authorities are still investigating the accident.
