National Ice Cream Day Event at the Science Spectrum Sunday

Learn the science of “Cold” at the Science Spectrum’s National Ice Cream Day Event on Sunday, July 17th from  2:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Did you know that everyone’s favorite Summer time treat, ice cream, has its own National day?  This year, Sunday, July 17th is National Ice Cream Day.  President Ronald Reagan began this tradition with a proclamation in 1984. http://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/ws/?pid=40141

The Science Spectrum will be celebrating the tradition by putting a “fun science spin” on the event this Sunday from 2:00 to 4:30 p.m. in its lobby with free Super Cold Show Demonstrations, where the science of cold, states of matters, and the properties of liquid nitrogen, one the coldest know substances, will be discussed. Demonstrations will be at 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. See the science behind how matter changes in a super-cold environment within seconds!

Then sample the Science Spectrum’s recipe for Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream & Frozen Ice Cream Dots using fresh ingredients. Free Liquid Nitrogen Ice Cream Samples & Frozen Ice Cream Dots are available while supplies last!
