A deputy in Marion County, Florida, is being credited with saving a baby’s life after dashcam video shows him quickly exiting his patrol car and attempting lifesaving measures and then rushing the child to the hospital.

The deputy, identified as Jeremie Nix, was flagged down by the baby’s mother at an intersection and turned his car around and pulled over to the side of the road and quickly went into action.

The woman said her three-month-old son named Kingston was unresponsive and required attention.

Deputy Nix took the baby and quickly began life-saving measures. The deputy then decided after seeing no improvement to put the baby in his patrol car and drive him to the hospital.

Kingston is doing well, according to his doctors, and should make a full recovery.

Doctors said that because of Deputy Nix’s actions, Kingston is alive today.
