The Bloomington Police Department on Thursday asked the public for help in locating a man wanted for attempted murder.
Police said Brandon Richardson, 34, battered, strangled and stabbed a woman over the course of three days earlier this month.
Detectives met with the victim Wednesday afternoon at a hospital. She said he began yelling and beating her on the evening of April 9 at a residence in Bloomington.
She said it began over relationship problems.
She said Richardson beat her with a metal bar, strangled her, stabbed her and kept her confined in a room with a dog leash around her neck.
Investigators said she has multiple fractures to her face, a broken vertebrae, broken ribs, contusions and stab wounds.
She said she was able to go to a neighbor for help when Richardson left the house on Wednesday morning.
Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.
