MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A judge on Tuesday ordered a man accused of killing his father to be held without bond.

William Browning pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.

Browning is accused of shooting and killing his father, Frank Browning, at a home on Richmond Drive in West Mobile on May 26.

According to prosecutors, Frank Browning was asleep when William Browning walked in and shot him in the head. 

Prosecutors say Browning confessed to investigators and said he had been planning the murder for 13 years.

William Browning was out on bond on a receiving stolen property charge in Harrison County, Mississippi. He was accused of stealing a van from Mobile Regional Airport and bringing it to Mississippi.

Browning is due back in court July 1.
