SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – Thanksgiving is just days away.
Whether you’re dreaming of the decadent turkey, glazed ham or endless rolls of bread, everyone knows food is a very important part of the celebration.
So who eats what where?
According to a poll by SurveyMonday about Thanksgiving traditions, turkey shines as the main Thanksgiving dish.
What about the sides?
You may be surprised and can either agree or disagree on these reported results.
Nearly 1,000 people were surveyed and results were divided by U.S. region.
Let’s start in the Southeast, where mac and cheese reigned supreme as a side dish for 35 percent of the region, and 20 percent of the country overall.
In New England, 56 percent of respondents said squash is a must on the Thanksgiving table, compared to only 18 percent of the nation.
Texas and central Southern states said cornbread is necessary, with 40 percent in the region voting for it on the dinner table and only 28 percent of the nation.
The Pacific Northwest voted for salad.
