New Mexico Police Discover Stolen Weapons, Drugs & Money

On Thursday, July 16, 2015, Officers of the Clovis Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of North Lea Street in reference to a subject with a weapon.  Clovis Police Department Dispatch received a call from a parent saying his son was being held at gun point by 26 year old Victor Apodaca. 

Agents of the Region 5 Drug Task Force, a multi-agency task force consisting of Officers and Deputies of the Clovis Police Department, Curry County Sheriff’s Office, Portales Police Department, and Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the scene.  During the course of the investigation, Agents generated search warrants for the residence in the 1200 block of North Lea Street.


On execution of the search warrants, agents recovered nine firearms from the home, three of them having been reported stolen.  Agents also recovered over $5,000.00 in currency, 200 grams of methamphetamine, 14.1 grams of heroin, and 240.7 grams of marijuana. 

Agents continued their investigation leading them to another area where they recovered an additional ten firearms, eight of them having been reported stolen.  Total weapons seized was nineteen (19), of which eleven (11) were reported stolen.

An arrest warrant has been generated for Victor Apodaca for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Receiving Stolen Property (Firearms), Possession with Intent to Traffic Methamphetamine, Possession with Intent to Traffic Heroin, and Distribution of Marijuana.
