Yesterday around 7:00 p.m., New Mexico State Police officers investigated an ATV crash which occurred near the Pecos River, near Malaga, NM in Eddy County.
Officers reported an ATV occupied by two juveniles rolled, seriously injuring a thirteen year old rider, identified as Zoe Carr from Marlton, NJ. Ms. Carr was transported to Carlsbad Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced deceased. Another thirteen year old male passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash; however, Ms. Carr was not wearing a safety helmet.
This crash remains under investigation.
