The City of Lubbock announced that installation of a new pedestrian bridge at Mae Simmons Park began on Monday.
An employee with the City of Lubbock died while operating equipment on the bridge in February.
The full statement is listed below:
“On Monday, October 17th installation of a new pedestrian bridge at Mae Simmons Park began. Construction must still be performed to provide handicapped accessibility. An update will be provided when the new pedestrian bridge is open for use.”
