The Board of Directors of Spirit Ranch, Inc. and its founder, David Miller, today announced the appointment of David Crews as President, which became effective January 28, 2015.
The appointment of Mr. Crews was part of a planned succession, and as part of the transition, President and Founder David Miller remains on the Board of Directors, continues to serve Spirit Ranch as a Lead Facilitator, and embarks on speaking, writing, and executive coaching engagements on behalf of the ranch.
“I am delighted to welcome David to the Spirit Ranch family,” said David Miller, Founder of Spirit Ranch. “David brings strong experience in and a deep understanding of leadership and team development and is well-suited to guide our organization in its next phase of growth. I am enjoying working with him and our team to ensure a seamless transition as we continue to deliver the highest quality service to our guests and our clients.”
David Crews spent over 9 years at United Supermarkets serving in roles such as Director of Strategic Projects and Director of Guest Insights. This experience made him very familiar with the fast pace of corporate management. He began his career at Dell Computers and quickly advanced to become a Regional Sales Manager, earning many awards along the way. David holds a BA in Marketing from Texas Tech University, an MBA in Business Administration from St. Edwards University, and maintains a Project Management Professional certification with the Project Management Institute. Locally, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Early Learning Center, is Past-President on the board of the West Texas chapter of the Project Management Institute, and is the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Leadership Lubbock committee. David was also recognized by the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce as an award recipient for 20 Under 40 in 2014.
David Crews commented, “Spirit Ranch is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. Our property is a place where you become truly alive. Over the years, I’ve been blessed by the experiential learning activities the Spirit Ranch provides and have been truly transformed as an individual, team member, leader, and father. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to advance the mission of this great organization.”
Mike Henthorn, current Chairman of the Board of Spirit Ranch, added: “We listen closely to God’s voice and pray diligently for His guidance in all that we do. David Crews was called to serve the Spirit Ranch organization at a time when our founder, David Miller, knew he needed to transition the organization to the next generation of leadership. As we sought His wisdom and guidance, the Lord provided. David Crews brings the vision to advance our mission and the strong execution skills we need to deliver valuable programs to our clients and guests.”
“It is hard to believe that our organization is quickly approaching our 10 year anniversary,” said Mr. Miller. ”In 2005, I left all I knew to create this place we call Spirit Ranch. I did not exactly know what Spirit Ranch would be, but God provided me with a clear vision to help draw people closer to their creator. The transformation in people’s lives and, therefore, their organizations and families that we’ve seen since then has been absolutely amazing. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for our future. With David Crews leading us, I know it will be BIG!”
