The City of Lubbock will finalize the construction of the new traffic signal at 122nd Street and Indiana Avenue on January 4, 2017. The new traffic signal will operate in flash mode from Thursday morning (1/5/2017) until Friday morning (1/6/2017). During this time, the traffic signal will flash yellow on Indiana Avenue and red on 122nd Street.
On Friday morning (1/6/2017), the traffic signal will be altered to operate in green-yellow-red mode to designate the right-of-way for drivers. Pedestrian activated push buttons and countdown signal heads will also become operational at this time.
The traffic signal was approved by the Citizens Traffic Commission in 2016. The City urges drivers to be aware of the change and use caution while driving through the intersection.
