The City of Lubbock will finalize the construction of the traffic signal at 4th Street and Elkhart Avenue on Wednesday, September 14. The traffic signal will operate in flash mode on Wednesday through part of Thursday. The traffic signal will flash yellow on 4th Street and red on Elkhart Avenue.
On Thursday, September 15, the traffic signal will operate in Green-Yellow-Red mode to designate the right-of-way for drivers. Pedestrian activated push buttons and countdown signal heads will be featured at the traffic signal.
The Citizens Traffic Commission approved the installation of the traffic signal in September 2015.
The City urges drivers to be aware of the change and use caution while driving through the intersection.
