The No. 23 Texas Tech baseball team edged No. 22 Cal State Fullerton 6-5 on Saturday afternoon to even the series.

In the bottom of the eighth inning Texas Tech (8-4, 0-0 Big 12) and Cal State Fullerton (5-4, 0-0 Big West) were tied up at five, but with two outs, Tech senior catcher Tyler Floyd hit an RBI double to left field, scoring Zach Davis, and the Red Raiders regained the lead 6-5. It was a lead that Texas Tech would never relinquish.

Floyd led the way offensively for Texas Tech going 2-for-3 with 2 RBI.

Texas Tech and Cal State Fullerton will meet once more with the series on the line, Sunday afternoon at 12 pm.
