Saturday afternoon No. 25 Texas Tech fell to the Baylor Bears 4-3 in game two of a three game series in Waco. The Bears tied the series at 1-1.
The Red Raiders surrendered a 3-run lead over the final three innings, giving up four unanswered runs by the Baylor Bears in the loss.
Tech freshman left-handed pitcher Steven Gingery was given the start and tossed five shutout innings, while only allowing two hits and six strikeouts.
Through the first two games Tech’s freshman starters – Martin and Gingery – threw 11 shutout innnings, while only allowing four hits and adding 10 strikeouts.
Tech junior right-handed pitcher Ryan Moseley was credited with the loss, throwing two innings, while giving up six hits that lead to four earned runs for Baylor.
In the top of the fourth, Tech senior first baseman Eric Guiterrez sent a 2-0 pitch over the left field wall to give Texas Tech a 2-0 lead.
In the seventh, Tyler Neslony hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score Michael Davis and give the Red Raiders a 3-0 lead.
However, the Bears would answer on a single to center by T.J. Raguse to score two.
Later in the inning, Aaron Dodson singled to right to tie the game at 3-3.
Then in the bottom of the 8th, Josh Bissonette used an infield single to score Kameron Esthay and give Baylor the 4-3 lead. The Bears first lead of the series.

Baylor secured the comeback win in game two 4-3 over #25 Texas Tech.
Texas Tech will face Baylor in game three on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Waco, Tx. The series finale will be broadcast on Fox Sports Southwest.
