An Odessa doctor with Lubbock ties, Dr. Suresh Gadasalli, 53, was shot and killed Thursday in Odessa.
Police responded to the Healthy Heart Center for the report of an active shooter. Once inside, officers immediately evacuated several employees.
While searching the building, officers discovered two men dead from gunshot wounds. The first was identified Gadasalli. The second was identified as Ayyasamy Thangam, 60, who was a patient and business associate of Godasalli.
Witnesses told police that Thangam shot Gadasalli multiple times, and then witnesses said they heard a single gunshot.
Both bodies will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy. Texas Rangers were asked to help with the investigation.
The website for the the Heathy Heart Center said Gadasalli had privileges at the Lubbock Heart Hospital.
