Odessa Police responded to a burglary in progress in the 4600 block of Valleybrook around 4:30 Sunday morning.
When they arrived, they found Jake Gould, 25, with multiple gunshot wounds. Gould was transported to Medical Center Hospital where he later died.
Police say the homeowner, Paul Munoz, 51, was woken up by a banging noise, his wife heard, at the front door.
Munoz says Gould entered into his home and began to rush him.
Officials tell us Munoz shot Gould multiple times.
Gould will be sent to Tarrant County for an autopsy.
The investigation continues.
