A 58-year-old man has been arrested and accused of inappropriately touching two girls for a number of years, according to a probable cause affidavit.
On May 24 a woman told the Odessa Police Department that Jose Melendez Mendoza had been inappropriately touching a 12-year-old girl for about three years, according to the affidavit.
A second complaint was also made against the suspect when a man told police that Mendoza had inappropriately touched a 15-year-old girl several years ago, according to the affidavit.
Forensic interviewers at Harmony Home reportedly interviewed the 15-year-old child who said that Mendoza had touched her genitals under her clothes while she was at his house several years ago.
The 12-year-old was also interviewed at Harmony Home and reportedly told officials that Mendoza “has been sexually abusing her for about three years.”
She told officials that Mendoza would touch her breasts and penetrate her with his finger every time she came to his home, according to the affidavit.
Mendoza was arrested Monday and charged with continuous sexual assault of a child, a first-degree-felony, and indecency with a child, a second-degree-felony.
