Lubbock Police arrested a juvenile on Friday, according to a police report, for injury to a child. The police report said officers were called to the 2000 block of 52nd Street.
Officers were told an older brother heated up a hot glue gun and squirted the hot glue on his little brother’s hand. A little bit of hot glue also fell on the younger brother’s middle left toe.
The grandmother told police that the older brother had been arrested before and she was under instructions to call police if the older brother was ever violent again.
A police report said, “I observed red marks on his left hand and left middle toe. The red marks were turning to blisters at the time that I observed them.”
The family made arrangements to get the little brother treated with a family doctor. EMS was refused.
Because the older brother is a juvenile, the name was not listed in the police report.
Injury to a child can be charged as a state jail felony, third degree felony, or first degree felony depending on the circumstances. The police report did not indicate how it would be charged.
