“Today (Friday) at approximately 4p.m., the Lubbock Police Department received a call from a female advising someone had just shot at her during an attempt to purchase a video gaming system outside the Schlotzsky’s Sandwich Shop located at 5204 Slide Road.

While attempting to purchase the gaming system from the suspects, there was an altercation and shots were fired at the victim’s vehicle. The victims and suspects fled the scene. The victims met with officers near the South Plains Mall.

About an hour later, Special Operations investigators spotted the suspect vehicle in the area of Parkway Drive and Zenith Avenue. As an officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver exited the vehicle and fled the area. The passenger ran into the 7-11 located at 2526 Parkway Drive.

The first suspect, a black male, was not located despite an extensive area search. The second suspect, 20-year-old Marcell Woodall, was taken into custody inside of the 7-11 and is now charged with aggravated robbery, a first degree felony.

Inside the suspect vehicle, officers located a handgun matching the description given by the victims.

Detectives and investigators will continue to look into this incident, and the investigation is on-going.”
