One person died after a fiery wreck in Eastland County early Thursday morning involving two 18-wheelers.
The wreck happened around 2:10 a.m. on Interstate 20 eastbound at mile marker 354, just east of Ranger.
When emergency crews arrived, one truck was on its side and the other was “fully involved in flames,” according to the Ranger Fire Department.
Crews with the Ranger, Eastland, Olden, and Cisco Fire Departments and Eastland Memorial Medic all assisted with the scene.
Names were not yet released.
A brief statement from DPS said, “Vehicle 1 was traveling east on US-84 while vehicle 2 was traveling west.”
DPS also said, “Vehicle 1 driver lost control on the wet roadway and veered into the center median. Vehicle 1 traveled onto the west bound lanes and crashed into the front left portion of vehicle 2.”
Vehicle 1 and Vehicle 2 were both 18-wheelers.
