One person was killed and five others injured in a two vehicle accident in Andrews County Monday morning.

According to the DPS, the accident occurred 18 miles west of Andrews at the intersection of State Highway 115 and Farm-to-Market Road 181 around 6:15 a.m.

Authorities said a Chevrolet 1500 pickup was traveling south on FM 181 and a Ford F-250 pickup was traveling west on State Highway 115. The Chevrolet failed to yield the right of way to the Ford at the intersection resulting in the crash.

The driver of Chevrolet was killed in the accident and has been identified as Leonard Beyale, 65, of Farmington, New Mexico. His passenger was transported to Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews with incapacitating injuries.

The four occupants in the Ford were also transported to Permian Regional Medical Center with non-incapacitating injuries.
