Original Tech Hecklers Continue Tough Talking Tradition

More than 30 of the original Tech Hecklers reunited this weekend for the 2016 All Heckler Reunion, and to give West Virginia an earful.

“We just got the bonus of a Big 12 Championship and senior weekend,” heckler Chris Snead said. “So wrap that all into a Heckler reunion and you got a heck of a weekend.”

Hecklers came in from all across the country, including some of the originals who helped form the group in the early nineties.

“It’s just family,” heckler Jason Ward said. “Being a Red Raider, you’re part of a family.”

“We were here when they weren’t very good and we’ve been here when they are good,” Snead said.

They said the reunion isn’t just about them, but also about being able to support the Tech baseball team’s success.

“To watch them represent the university is phenomenal,” heckler Tim Coffey said. “They are just great individuals. Not even the result on the field, but how they are individually, is a great statement for how they represent the university.”

They said they are proud to be part of Red Raider baseball lore and to continue the tradition going forward.

“Most of us have all grown up and chasing kids and life happens, but we get the band back together for a weekend to have some fun,” Snead said.
