Lubbock Power and Light (LP&L) is scheduled to service overhead lights along west Loop 289 next week. The work will require the inside (left) mainlane at various locations along Loop 289 to be closed to traffic-allowing LP&L to safely make repairs and/or service the overhead lighting.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., Monday, June 20, motorists can expect the inside southbound/eastbound Loop 289 mainlane to be closed at various locations between the Marsha Sharp Freeway (US 62/82) and Nashville Drive. The utilities work and lane closures will continue throughout the week; wrapping-up Friday, June 24.

The lanes are expected to reopen to traffic each afternoon by 4 p.m. No overnight closures are planned. The closures and work will take place weather permitting.
