The Texas Department of Public Safety investigated a crash Monday afternoon at Farm to Market road 179 and County Road 6100. It is the same intersection as a deadly crash in April that took the lives to two Shallowater High School students.

A photojournalist at the scene said a young man was driving a pickup truck and had to swerve to avoid a car. The truck ran off the roadway and flipped over in someone’s front yard. DPS said the injuries were minor.

There is a stop sign for traffic going east and west along CR 6100.

In April, Justice Chavez, 17, and Alicia Ramos, 16, both of Shallowater lost their lives after a crash at that location. DPS said Chavez failed stop at a stop sign and his car collided with a truck.

In the days that followed concerned viewers said the intersection is dangerous.
