A plane that was being taxied on a runway at the Lampasas Municipal Airport was heavily damaged when wind flipped it over Sunday afternoon.
Lampasas Police report they were notified at 1:34 p.m. The Lampasas Fire Department and Acadian Ambulance also responded to the scene.
The pilot and lone occupant of the single engine plane reported they were rolling down the runway when wind caused the plane to flip upside down.
The pilot received only scrapes and bruises but the plane received extensive damage.
The City of Lampasas Electric Department Supervisor Clint Geagley used a boom truck to lift the plane and get it upright.
It was then pushed to a hanger.
The Lampasas Municipal Airport was closed for a short period of time.
The crash is being investigated by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Federal Aviation Administration.
