A baby girl was rescued, and Wichita Falls police said her mom traded her for drugs.

A woman called police.  She had been asked by a friend to care for her baby.  The mom returned for the baby the next day.  Then, according to police, the woman later learned that the baby was at a crack house.

The woman tracked down the baby in the 500 block of Bonner Street.  Police said a man was willing to return the baby.  Police checked it out and determined that, yes, the baby girl was traded for drugs.

Police then recovered the child.  Police said the baby appeared to be about 6-weeks-old and not in the best of health.

The baby was taken a hospital and placed with Children’s Protective Services.

Police said no arrests have been made yet.
