Lubbock Police were called Tuesday at 3:43 pm to 58th Street near Avenue L when residents said a man had been under a tree for two days. Residents thought at first he was just napping, but they felt suspicious when he stayed put for a long time. Police discovered that the man was dead.
Police then called investigators to check out the situation. Police said there’s no indication of foul play – at least not so far. However, because the man’s death was unattended, there will be an investigation.
Officers closed off the area with crime scene tape.
