The Lubbock Police Department is investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred in Northwest Lubbock Tuesday morning.
The incident occurred at 1126 Slide Road, in the RedBud Center parking lot, just after 7:00 a.m.
Authorities said two black males in an SUV approached a female victim who was sitting in her parked car. The men reportedly asked the victim for directions.
One of the men then pulled a handgun on the victim and demanded she give up her purse. The woman refused and then started the ignition on her vehicle.
The two men then fled the scene.
