The Lubbock Police Department responded to the scene of reported shooting and carjacking in East Lubbock early Saturday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to Penske Truck Rental in 500 block of 50th Street around 1:00 p.m.
Lubbock Police told EverythingLubbock the victim reported he had been shot and that his vehicle was stolen.
The victim was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
Randolph Ryerson, a spokesman for Penske, released the following statement to EverythingLubbock.com:
“We are proud of our employees who took swift action to assist the injured individual and called 911. The victim was shot near our location and then came to it seeking help. No Penske employees or customers were harmed.”
The incident remains under investigation by Lubbock Police.
