A man was arrested on a Disorderly Conduct charge after “protesting” outside an Abilene church, an arrest report claims.

This report says Daniel Ruchinski, 34, was taken into custody outside St. Paul United Methodist Church Sunday morning around 11:00 a.m. for “causing a disturbance” and making “someone feel threatened”.

The report goes on to say Ruchinski, “was yelling even after being warned to cease”, and he “caused a clear disturbance [while] men, women, and children were going to church”.

BigCountryHomepage.com spoke to Ruchinski who says he was not protesting when he was arrested, merely preaching.

He claims he was on a public sidewalk at the time of his arrest and believes he was unlawfully detained.  He declined to make any further comment on the nature of what he was doing on the sidewalk at this time.

Several YouTube videos show Ruchinski preaching at various locations around Abilene and other towns across the country.

St. Paul has not released any information on the incident at this time. They are expected to provide a statement in the future.

They do have the following message on their Facebook page:

Please pray for the gentleman protesting in front of the church this morning that he might find his heart opened to work of God at work in the world around us all. In Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
