This morning, Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at approximately 9:40 a.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery at Prosperity Bank, 114 University Ave. Three suspects entered the bank wearing black clothing, ski masks and armed with handguns. They ordered the employees to give them as much money as possible from the registers. The employees complied and the suspects fled the scene in a blue Volvo passenger car. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned a short time later in the 100 block of Akron Ave. No one was injured.
Detectives were called to the scene to investigate. They are asking for the public’s help. If anyone recognizes the suspect vehicle or may have seen the vehicle prior to today’s robbery to contact Crime Line at 741-1000. Callers can remain anonymous.
