An employee at the Chicken Express at 6720 82nd Street was assaulted by an unhappy customer April 8 after the customer claimed he didn’t receive his complete order, according to police.

Police said the altercation started earlier in the day when two men ordered from the drive thru. They returned to the restaurant a short time later and claimed they didn’t receive their entire order. The employee said he would not replace the order because most of it had already been consumed. 

“Basically it escalated from there and the manager backed off from behind the counter and that’s where the video shows that the guy reaches behind the counter and throws him on the ground and gets on top of him,” store owner Robert Kollman said.

After the attack, the two men left the store before police arrived. The entire attack was caught on surveillance cameras.

“I just couldn’t believe it, I was in shock,” Kollman said. “Thinking that this was really going on and that somebody is being that violent over food.”
 
Police are looking for information on the two suspects. They describe them first one as as a Hispanic male, 30-35 years old, 5’08”, 180 lbs. wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans and boots. The second suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, 45-50 years old with black and grey hair, long sleeve button up shirt with a white t-shirt underneath and blue jeans. They were in a white Ford F-250 with chrome mirrors and black bed cover.
 
“You’re going to have instances that happen but we really try to provide a safe environment for our kids, and our staff, and then for our customers that actually dine with us,” Kollman said. “It’s really frustrating to know that something gets taken to this level because of somebody being unhappy, and it’s just really unacceptable, and I applaud the police for trying to intervene and trying to find them from our video”

On Friday, April 8, 2016 at approximately 6:24 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of an assault at Chicken Express, 6720 82nd Street. Two suspects had gone through the drive thru and received their food order. They returned a short time later complaining that they didn’t receive their complete order. The manager could not provide them with a new order because most of the food had already been consumed. One of the suspects became enraged and attacked the manager behind the front counter. Both suspects then fled the scene.
