Lubbock Police responded to the Coronado Inn Friday afternoon sometime after 3:00 pm.
Police surrounded the inn at 501 Interstate 27 Frontage Road but have not provided details. According to one eyewitnesses officers had guns drawn at one point. A police spokesman said by text message that a subject was barricaded inside. Has since surrendered.
Early Friday evening, Lubbock Police issued the following statement.
On Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at approximately 3:15 a.m., patrol responded to a call about a burglary just occurred in the 5500 block of 95th Street. The suspect broke a bedroom window where the female victim was in bed. He climbed through the window and held the victim at gun point and stole several items.
Detectives developed enough probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect. He was located at this afternoon at the Coronado Inn, 501 North I-27, where he barricaded himself in a room. He eventually surrendered without incident and was arrested and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center and booked in.
