Police: Teenager Hit By Baseball Bat After Breaking Into Home

Lubbock Police said a 15-year-old girl was among a group of people who broke into a South Lubbock home armed with various weapons.  Police said she had a baseball bat. 

Police said it started as an outdoor disturbance in the 1300 block of 65th Drive around midnight Thursday morning. It then moved inside the residence of a 21-year-old woman.


Police said the woman was able to get the bat from the teen.  The woman hit the teen with the bat in what police called “self defense.”  

The teenage suspect was taken to Covenant Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  At last check she was in fair condition.  No charges were filed as of Thursday afternoon. 

Lubbock Police said charges are pending.
