A Presidio ISD teacher is behind bars for harboring illegal immigrants.
Senia Armendariz was arrested Tuesday for harboring at least five illegal immigrants for personal gain.
According to the affidavit, Senia and her husband Jose Armendariz , who also worked for PISD, recruited immigrants and provided them with fraudulent documents stating they were living with parents in an apartment in Presidio in order to enroll in Presidio High Schools.
The immigrants were reportedly required to provide medical assistance to Jose, undress him for bed, and do whatever else he needed at all times of night. They also had to run errands for the Armendariz’s and, on occasion, cook for them.
According to one of the immigrants, Jose and Senia were aware that he only had a tourist visa and was not authorized to reside in the U.S.
The AUSA’s Office was advised of the case and authorized federal prosecution of Jose and Senia Armendariz for Harboring Aliens in the United States for gain.
