Motorists driving SH 114 (west 19th Street) this week should anticipate lane closures as Lubbock and Western Railway (L&WR) makes repairs to the railroad crossing located just west of FM 179. Work to make the repairs is scheduled to begin on Monday, Sept. 12 and continue throughout the week, ending on Friday, Sept. 16.
Traffic will be reduced to one-lane in each direction with westbound traffic being shifted onto the center turn-lane and eastbound being placed on the outside eastbound driving lane. Motorists are asked to slow down and drive with caution through the work zone for their safety and the safety of the workers.
The lane closure and work will take place weather permitting.
