Remember our Heroes, formerly Concern for Veterans, will be planting 5 beautiful trees on Friday, April 8th at 3:00 pm at Lubbock Area Veterans War Memorial off Nashville and 84th St to honor Roy Velez, Jr and his 2 fallen sons, Jose[ Freddy] and Andrew. The 5 trees will be south of the Memorial facing 84th St. From that day forth, it will be called the Roy Velez, Jr Grove. Roy and his 2 sons who were graduates of Estacado were patriots. Freddy and Andrew answered the call of the trumpet to defend our homeland. Now we honor them with this tree planting service.

As we plant these trees, we are reminded that we remain at war even today. We are also reminded that nationally 22 soldiers/ Vets commit suicide daily and many soldiers come home from multiple deployments and their lives have been changed forever. Many deal with the PTS and live in a dark world. As we celebrate Roy, Freddy and Andrew, let us remember those who still serve and those who have come home. And those lost in the last 2 wars and the Gold Star Families that they left behind.

Please join us to honor these 3 good men especially a Father who had to bury his 2 sons.
