Daylight Saving Time returns on Sunday, March 13 at 2:00 a.m. Central Time here on the South Plains.

Remember to turn your clocks ahead hour before you go to bed Saturday night or “spring forward” when you wake up on Sunday morning.

Local fire departments also recommend you take a moment to test or change out the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

It’s also a good idea to check the batteries in your NOAA Weather Radio as well with severe weather season just around the corner.

The passage of the 2005 Energy Conservation Act moved the start of Daylight Saving Time to the second Sunday in March.

Daylight Saving Time will end on Sunday, November 6, 2016.
