The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) would like to remind the traveling public that eastbound US 82 (Parkway Drive) traffic has been moved onto the frontage roads—as one-way traffic. The traffic switch is allowing work crews to expedite work on the US 82 mainlanes.
Another traffic change that happened on Tuesday, July 5, was the closing of Zenith Avenue to thru-traffic. Drivers do have access to get onto the frontage road, but cannot cross US 82/Parkway Drive to get onto Zenith.
Motorists can anticipate additional traffic changes in the near future with westbound Parkway Drive traffic also being place on the frontage road the week of July 18.
Both east- and westbound US 82 traffic has been reduced to 35 mph through the construction zone. Drivers are also urged to use caution when driving through the work zone, since crews will be working in close proximity to traffic.
Traffic is expected to remain on the frontage road until late-August. The project is anticipated to be completed in late-October 2016.
