HPWD is accepting public comments on the proposed Desired Future Conditions (DFCs) for relevant aquifers that were recently adopted by Groundwater Management Areas 1 & 2.

The public is invited to comment on the proposed DFCs at a public hearing at 1:30 p.m., July 12, 2016, at the HPWD office, 2930 Avenue Q, in Lubbock. The first public hearing was held June 14 in Amarillo.

The proposed DFCs for the relevant aquifers and other supporting materials are available for public viewing during regular business hours at the district office or online at www.hpwd.org/proposeddfcs.

A 90-day public comment period is currently in progress. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2016.

They can be mailed to the HPWD office, delivered during regular business hours, or emailed to comments@hpwd.org.
