The community organization Restoring Hope Lubbock took to the streets Thursday, as they do every Thursday, to help provide meals and resources to Lubbock’s homeless.

The group’s leaders explained to EverythingLubbock.com that with triple-digit and near triple digit heat, passing out water to the homeless is especially important. They also come prepared with extra socks, pre-packaged food, mosquito repellent and more to hand out to people in need.

Restoring Hope Lubbock added that they get to know many of Lubbock’s homeless personally, and say these gestures of generosity help lighten a small piece of the load for those who don’t have a home.

If you would like to help Restoring Hope Lubbock, you can meet them every Thursday evening as they pass out resources. They are looking for more volunteers.

They also welcome donations of water, new or used closed, fruit, snacks, and mosquito repellent.

You can find out more at their Facebook page.
