Texas Tech’s bowl chances came to an abrupt end Saturday in Ames, Iowa.
Iowa State scored 45 first half points and handed the Red Raiders their seventh loss in the Cyclones 66-10 win.
Patrick Mahomes left early in the first quarter with an injury. He later returned but the Red Raider offense was held at bay all day.
Texas Tech scored it’s only touchdown in the third quarter when the game was already out of hand.
The 56-point loss is the worst in the Kliff Kingsbury era.
Texas Tech will head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington on November 25 to take on Baylor University. The game will kick off at 5:00 p.m.
