Student produced full--length film, “SAM (on everything)” will continue casting on April 5 and 7 from 6--10 p.m. in Room 365 of the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University.
This independent comedy is written and will be directed by senior electronic media and communications major Weston Davis, with junior electronic media and communications major John Hackney as the director of photography. This is the first full-- length film to be produced by students in the College of Media & Communication at Texas Tech University and is scheduled to begin filming in early June.
In the movie, millennial rebel Sam realizes she is becoming everything she hates, and finds that quitting her job could lead to even more trouble from her boss, the greasy businessman Bob Nagel. Set in Lubbock, the filmmakers hope to highlight the city’s unique culture.
The film crew is currently looking to cast six main roles. The roles are described as follows:
- 19--24 year old female with a quirky personality and taste in music, but no direction in life
- 35--50 year old local businessman who is well--known around town, but is quickly losing his empire
- Early 30s male who thinks he understands business, but is actually ignorant and arrogant
- 25--32 year old female who is successful and has her life together
- 25--32 year old male known for stoner and rock and roll lifestyle that he does not plan on changing
- 19--24 year old male average guy who has done everything right, and is looking to break out of his comfort zone
