The City of San Angelo released a statement on their Facebook Page Tuesday stating that New U.S. Census Population Estimates put San Angelo past the 100,000 mark in Population for the first time. In addition, San Angelo is now listed as the 300th largest city in the country.

The statement read as follows:

San Angelo’s population has eclipsed 100,000 for the first time!

The U.S. Census Bureau has released its population estimates for 2015, and San Angelo’s new population is 100,450. That makes us the 300th-largest city in the U.S. (up from 301 last year and 306 in 2012).This growth represents an increase of almost 8 percent over the 2010 Census population of 93,200 and a 1.2 percent increase over the 2014 estimate of 99,240. Big time! Yay us!
