On December 3, the Lubbock Police Department will provide holiday cheer to 30 children who are actively enrolled in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lubbock through the Santa Cops program.

Santa Cops is the Lubbock Police Department’s annual volunteer project designed to meet the needs and Christmas wishes of local children. Each year children are selected for a once in a lifetime experience. Each child will be paired with a police officer who will take them holiday shopping and spend quality time with them. Below is a detailed schedule of the day:

  • 7:45-8:30: Barnes & Noble
  • 8:30-9:30: Lubbock National Bank Breakfast
  • 9:30-10:30: Cardinals
  • 10:30-12:00: Walmart
  • 12:00-12:45: Burlington Coat Factory
  • 1:00-3:00: Bodywork’s Adrenaline City
  • 3:15-4:00: Yates Carpet

Santa Cops is an annual volunteer project funded through dues officers pay to the Lubbock Professional Police Association. Organizers also apply for grants and accumulate local donations throughout the year.
