A local boy scout leader has been arrested for allegedly distributing drugs from the Boy Scout Hut in Clyde.

Bill Cedergren, 52, was arrested for Manufacturing and Delivery of Methamphetamine over Four Ounces – a charge that was upgraded to a 1st Degree Felony because the Boy Scout Hut, located on the 300 block of Forrest Street in Clyde, is within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.

The Callahan County Sheriff’s Department says investigators had been watching Cedergren for some time because his name kept coming up during narcotics busts.

Deputies finally conducted a STING operation where they sent a criminal informant into the Boy Scout Hut to purchase methamphetamine from Cedergren who willingly sold her .8 to .9 grams of the narcotic.

He was subsequently arrested, and authorities did find several baggies and some paraphernalia that suggested he was a dealer.

The Sheriff’s Department searched Cedergren’s office at the Boy Scout Hut and found a large amount of pornography locked away. Detectives believe this was all adult pornography, but they are still trying to determine if any involved children. They also removed pornography that was located in the open at his shop because children had access to the area.

Cedergren did confess to these allegations during an interview where he said he has been dealing methamphetamine for around two years, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
