On July 12, 2015, at approximately 3:15am, Seagraves Police Officer Tanner Edwards along with back up Seagraves Police Officer Cory Johnson stopped a vehicle south bound on US 385, for speeding. The driver, Rachel Perry, 24, of Weatherford, Texas, had a suspended drivers license.
Officers on scene got several indicators of other crimes, and upon arresting the driver, and completing an inventory of the vehicle Police Officers found 6 Texas Drivers Licenses with different names and addresses but with Rachel’s picture. Also located on the vehicle was a manual plastic embossing machine, which can be used to make credit cards, a handwritten ledger with credit card information on different people, a typed list of 28 names of people, their billing address, credit card number and security code. 50 sheets of blank check stock which include 150 blank checks, a check book with checking account information printed on it in the name of one of the drivers licenses in her possession, but not her real name. A check that had been issued at a Walmart store in Lubbock off of that account. Lamination stock for credit cards, and some credit card stock.
At 4:30 am Chief McAuley arrived on scene to deploy the K-9 unit, but no drugs were found.
At this time Rachel has been charged with Multiple charges of Tampering with Government Documents, Forgery, and Possession of False Identifying information. All charges, other than speeding and Driving while license suspended are all 2nd and 3rd degree felony charges.
