Several Injured in Central Lubbock Shooting

After 10 p.m. Sunday, Lubbock Police responded to a call of a person shot in the forehead.  They responded to a home near 17th and Avenue V.

Lubbock Police told our photojournalist on scene that someone fired a shotgun full of birdshot at four people standing outside. LPD said that one person was struck in the head and one person was struck in the stomach.

Lubbock Police spoke with EverythingLubbock.com over the phone Sunday night  explaining that the victims were listed with moderate injuries. At that time LPD couldn’t confirm whether they were transported to a hospital for further treatment.

As of Sunday at 11 p.m. Lubbock Police are still looking for two suspects involved in this case.

Police on Monday morning issued a written statement:

Officers learned that a group of victims (8)  were out walking and were approached by the involved suspects who threatened the victims with a weapon and demanded money and valuables. The suspects collected some items and  started to leave the area when one suspects turned and fired one shot at the victims. Six of the victims were hit and injured by what appears to have been possible shotgun type projectiles. The injured subjects had minor injuries and they all refused EMS at the scene.
