The Sharp Academy is inviting the community to their Open House Thursday night to give a tour of their new location as well as show families with children with ADHD and dyslexia resources available to them.

Sharp Academy works closely with students who have dyslexia and ADHD by helping them all learn at an equal pace. More than a school however, it’s a special resource to families not only here in town but, even out of state, which is why the Academy wants to be sure to invite the community to their open house.

Families across Texas and even as far as Colorado and California have sent their children to the academy for  schooling and diagnostic testing for children who don’t attend the school.

The academy enrolls second graders through high school seniors, and places a huge focus on college prep. By graduation, every student will have toured 30 different college campuses and have earned several college credits.

However, the academy realizes the children cannot do it alone, that’s why they bring in teachers and faculty with a focus in teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD and who all either have or are currently working toward their Master’s degree.

The academy says they’re excited to open their doors to the community on Thursday so that everyone can get a tour of their new location which features a number of new classrooms and the Evelyn M. Davies activity center as well as meet with teachers and faculty to learn more about the resources available to them.

“We offer diagnostic testing for any student, so if you’re curious to have your child screened for dyslexia we have fabulous summer programs, we have the Scottish Rite training program that we offer to the community during the summer, so they can go back to school beefed up and ready to go,” said Lisa Stane, executive director and founder of the Sharp Academy. “We see an immediate difference in that self confidence.”
