A six-year-old girl was killed Sunday afternoon when a golf car she was riding in flipped on top of her.
According to DPS, at about 12 p.m., deputies were called to Huckleberry Drive in Trinity County on a report of a one-vehicle crash.
A preliminary crash investigation determined a golf cart was turning around on Huckleberry when the cart overturned on its left side on a passenger. Officials said an 8-year-old boy from Trinity was driving the cart.
The injured child was identified as Kendall Lasseter, 6, of Bacliff. She was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:28 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
